‘Battle Writers’ Group’ was formed in 1985 when several people who met as ‘The Green Quill’ writers (after attending a writing course by Andrew Green) realised that there was a call for a larger group, they decided to call it ‘Battle Writers Group’. Their aim was to hold regular meetings to include discussions and workshops, and give constructive criticism of members’ work.
It all started as a small group meeting in a member’s house in Mount Street, Battle. Since then it has grown and now includes members from Robertsbridge, Bexhill, Hastings and Sedlescombe.
